Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Part of The Ashwood Practice Adult Services

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an active, collaborative, time-limited, structured approach used to treat a variety of psychological disorders. These include: Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, Pain, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Eating Disorders etc.

There is a connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Cognitive behavioural therapy aims to examine thoughts and encourage gradual changes in behaviour. Therapist and client work together to do this while monitoring the effect of these changes on feelings. This approach helps you to use your mind to overcome your mood.

All the therapists who work at the Ashwood Practice are accredited or registered with the relevant professional bodies. For therapist details, click here.
