The Ashwood Medico-Legal Consultancy offers a comprehensive Psychiatric/Psychological Expert Witness Service in Criminal, Civil and Family Court Cases and in Mental Health Act Appeal Tribunals.

This independent service combines the skills of Forensic Psychiatrists and Psychologists who specialise in assessing adults, adolescents, families and children. Complex cases may involve acrimonious separation and divorce, allegations of child abuse and neglect, and anomalous family arrangements.

Independent Expert Witnesses are available to assess all ages for personal injury and clinical negligence.

The Ashwood Practice, part of the Baker Duncan Partnership, Brookwood, Woking, Surrey Specialist Private Assessment and Treatment Services across the whole spectrum of psychological/mental health conditions and childhood developmental problems, including Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and OCD. We offer a continuing service throughout childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The clinical problems we commonly encounter include depression, deliberate self-harm, anxiety - in all its forms, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and adjustments reactions in individuals and families in relation to traumatic seperation (including bereavement of parents, children and siblings) or other family crises such as divorce and domestic/family violence.

We have developed specialist expertise in assisting families who have adopted children with attachment problems and we have also set up a therapeutic re-parenting scheme to support foster-carers who are struggling with very challenging behaviour in younger children.
